This sleeping giant is becoming increasingly popular among the locals, so be sure to check them out before the lines start to wrap around the block. They sell out fast, so be sure to get there early if you’re looking to sample everything. The El Ray gave us a great selection of their meats at a reasonable price point. Their savory spice blend will bring a unique experience with each different type of meat you taste, and it pairs exceptionally with all of them. Without giving too much away, their sides also fit the function, with uniquely crafted options such as green chile Mac & cheese. One thing that I will say I hope to see added to Boxcar would be better signage, guiding people to the line, and helping them to preview the menu before getting to the front. A small detail, but it can add to the experience. ”

“ Had been hearing people say this was pretty good BBQ, man were they wrong this is PHENOMENAL BBQ! I’ve eaten at many of the top BBQ locations all over Texas and this honestly beat out everyone. The smoke ring, the bark, the quality, and the portion size of the brisket were immaculate! We had the fatty brisket with coleslaw, and potato salad, which were all A-typical and tasted like something off the front page of the Texas monthly! Worth every penny and will be recommending everyone I know! Please change nothing!! ”

“ Top notch bbq in Lufkin Tx out of a food trailer. Tender brisket, delicious sausage, huge buns and awesome sauce if you want to put it on the meat but it sure doesn't need it. Picnic tables to eat on in a little grassy area next to the trailer adds to the Texas BBQ ambiance. So good. I long to try the burnt ends soon. ”

“ We took the family and ordered the El Ray…the nice girl at the register told us it was a bit of everything. We were not disappointed it was so much food and everything was delicious. Ordered the brisket Mac on the side and I highly recommend it!! ”

“ This place has the best bbq, only place that comes close is Terry blacks in waco. This place not only has bbq beef ribs and they do it right . We were lucky because they had boudan sausage. We had their burnt brisket ends,regular sausage, sliced brisket and mac and cheese. If you were raised Texan like us than you will understand when I say fork tender sweet and savory. I was brought up if the meat needs sauce then it's no good so I don't use any and it didn't need need but everyone that did try the sauce said It too was good. Didn't leave any room to try the dessert so will go back for some. Of course will get more bbq. Ps the puppy was happy to get the rib bone. ”
